Capital murder trial set to happen in Williamson County

The trial of a capital murder suspect is set to take place out of town, in order to ensure a right and fair trial.

Albert Leslie Love is the second of four capital murder suspects charged with a March 2011 Lakewood Villas Apartment shooting that left two dead and two injured.

Ricky Cummings was found guilty of the crime in November and has been sentenced to death.

The state is also pursuing the death penalty against Love. His trial will take place in Georgetown, in Williamson County, according to Judge Ralph Strother. Strother says the same attorneys and himself will preside over the trial.

"The state and defense both agreed that it would be best for a fair trial, with all the intensity of the first trial, to take it away from here," said Strother.

Strother says attorneys are aiming to call in a jury panel on March 22.

Love is currently being held in the McLennan County Jail on $6,750,000 bond.
