A 12 year old girl is being credited for saving two children from their burning home in Waco, Monday night.
Officials say Alexia Rodriguez smelled smoke in her home, on the 600 block of South 9th Street, and attempted to put the fire out. When the fire expanded, she ran to the back room to get her two younger cousins out of the house.
Officials say there were two adults and five children in the house at the time of the fire. All family members made it out safely.
Fire investigators say the fire may have been caused by two children in the home playing with matches, and the fire resulted in a total loss of the house.
