2 high school coaches accused of inappropriate relationships with students

Copperas Cove's assistant boys basketball coach, Matthew Doyle, was arrested Monday for sexually assaulting a 16-year-old high school student. This right after the girls head basketball coach, Preston Flaniken, was accused of inappropriate behavior with a recent graduate.
A local parent, Charles Hayden, says, "it really shocks and makes me upset and appalled that teachers that are supposed to be authority figures, that are supposed to have kids look up to them, are going around and doing this."
Doyle resigned, on March 24th, the day after police began investigating. He was arrested Monday, and released on Tuesday after posting bond.
Flaniken was put on administrative leave during the investigation.
Katie Rudesheim, Copperas ISD spokesperson says they handled the situation properly. She says their number one priority is the safety of their students. Rudesheim says, "now what I want to assure parents is that as soon as we find out, there is no lag time between us finding out about these allegations, and that individual being removed from any further contact with our students."
The school district and police are working together on the investigation. Rudesheim says this should all be over in a few days, and then more information will be available.
