BRYAN -- After an on-going police investigation an alleged drug dealer was arrested Thursday and charged with having drugs within a drug free zone.
33-year-old Gavino Acosta III was arrested after College Station police served him with a search warrant.
When officer's searched Acosta's home on Faith Circle in Bryan, about one block away from Jones Elementary, they found hashish and around two pounds of marijuana underneath his bed.
"It's significant," said Officer Rhonda Seaton. "It's, you know, better than we do most of the time but we do know that at least for now we have a drug dealer who has been shut down at least for a bit."
Acosta's charges were upgraded to a third-degree felony because his home is located in a drug-free zone.
Acosta was in the Brazos County Jail on $17,200 bail but has since bonded out.
