COLLEGE STATION -- Texas A&M is now looking to outsource the university golf course.
Jason Cook, vice president of marketing and communications, tells us the golf course has been losing roughly $100,000 every year so the university sent a request about a year ago to look at private companies that could run the public golf course for them and save the univeristy money.
"What is the mission of Texas A&M? Is it to run a golf course? I think many people would say probably not so if that's the case, you know, can we engage a private sector to see if their maybe is a company that can do that for us and maybe do it more efficiently?"
Cook says the university hopes to sign a contract in the next couple of months.
