Back to school, busy time for school nurses

WACO -- Schools all over Central Texas are welcoming kids back for the new year, but along with all of those kiddos come germs and bacteria.
Viruses and infections can easily spread throughout a school and with school hallways filling up again, crowded halls mean a crowded list of possibilities for Woodway elementary school nurse Devan Miles.
"You really can't prepare for anything because every year brings along a new strand of something. But basically you know just everyday things like upper respiratory infection, strep, and when flu season does roll around just anything like that," said Miles.
And of course the most popular and important tip to prevent viruses from spreading is to wash your hands several times a day.
Nurses suggest to wash your hands for about 20 seconds.
About the time it takes to sing the happy birthday song all the way through twice.
