BRYAN -- Two Bryan elementary schools will be seeing a new face around its hallways in the fall. Bryan Independent School District has announced the names of two new school principals.
Jason Puente will now be at Jones Elementary School. He was the principal at Branch Elementary last year. Punete has nine years experience in the field and has been with BISD for the past eight years.
James Henry, the former assistant principal at Rudder High, will be taking over for Puente at Branch.
Henry has been with BISD for the past 12 years and has 26 years experience in education.
Superintendent Dr. Wallis wants the community to support these moves.
"If they don't support those schools, look out for those schools, adopt them then the schools will not be as successful as they should be, had they embraced them. So I think both these principals will bring a community involvement, a community mindset to these campuses," said Dr. Wallis.
And Wallis said Puente will even be going door-to-door to introduce himself to the neighborhood.
Students can see their new principals on August 22nd when the new school year begins.
