MCLENNAN COUNTY -- There's a reward for the person responsible for firing two gunshots at a storage tank leaking thousands of gallons of water.
At 3:00 a.m. January 29, a McLennan County storage tank in the 1400 block of Old Bethany Road was found spewing between 30 to 50 thousand gallons of water out of bullet holes from some type of rifle.
The tank was just built in December and officials say the damages will take several months to repair.
"It's a headache plus it's pretty dangerous. You know, this is a public water system which means public safety and to me it's not like shooting a stop sign, this could be like a terroristic attack in a way," said John Wayne Metcalf, superintendent of Bruceville-Eddy water.
The damages are estimated to cost between $20-25,000 dollars.
