TEMPLE -- Police in Temple are looking for a man who broke into a home and shot at the resident.

They say it could be the same man that got away from them just moments before.

It happened in the 3600 block of Hopi Trail just after 1:30 early Saturday morning.

Police say a man woke up to a noise and went to see what it was.

He found a man hiding in his garage. That's when the burglar shot at him before he ran away.

Police say they had chased two men matching the description moments before the burglary, but they got away.

We spoke to a nanny of two toddlers, Maray Heard, and she's was on high alert.

"It's hard to think it's can't happen. I mean, this morning I just sat there, and I made sure all the doors were locked and alarms were on because it's scary!" said Heard.

Thankfully,  the burglar didn't hit the man when he shot at him.

Police added more patrols to the area and ask anyone with information to please call.
