Continuing drizzle is freezing upon contact with the ground, causing overpasses and even the non-elevated portions of roadway to freeze into ice. Numerous crashes are occurring as a result. Travel in the Temple area should now be limited to emergency situations only, as roadways are becoming increasingly hazardous. Ice has melted, for the most part, and roads are passable in all areas of the city.

One lane of northbound Interstate 35 is still closed at the 303 mile marker, while crews continue to work to clean the diesel spill there. --Northbound lanes are now open, as of 10:35 am. Southbound lanes of Interstate 35 are moving very slowly, as a crash has caused one lane to be closed at this time. All lanes of I-35 are now open

Midway Drive, on the hill near Bonham Middle School, is impassable and is being closed at this time. Sanding efforts will determine if the roadway can be reopened. Road was re-opened, thanks to strong sanding efforts of the City of Temple Street Department.

Both northbound and southbound lanes of I-35 at Loop 121 in Belton will be closed from 1-2 p.m. to reset a concrete barricade that was knocked over in a wreck this morning.
