College Station police continue investigation into Saturday's deadly crash
COLLEGE STATION -- Two college students are tragically killed and two others injured after a two-car collision on Saturday.
It happened just after 2:30 Saturday morning at the intersection of Holleman Drive and Texas Avenue.
There, police discovered that a Toyota 4-runner ran a red light and was hit by a Chevy truck, causing the Toyota to spin and crash into a pole, instantly killing two passengers.
College Station police tell us they're now investigating new evidence that may have played a contributing factor in Saturday's deadly crash.
"It has been mentioned about an incident at McDonald's that may have been related to this crash," said Officer Rhonda Seaton. "We are investigating both incidents and at this time we're still trying to determine whether or not one incident was a factor in the other."
She's referring to a large fight at the McDonald's off University Drive just 15 minutes before the accident happened.
No charges have been filed at this time but blood samples were take from both drivers to see if alcohol was involved.
