Waco, TX - Central Texas-area consumers should be on the alert for door-to-door meat salespeople, according to multiple complaints recently filed with BBB. In the same fashion BBB warned about last April, consumers continue to allege that the representatives use high pressure sales tactics to collect hundreds, sometimes thousands, of dollars in cash and then never deliver the meat.
The company the salespeople represent is Ranch House Quality Meats, which has a physical address in Austin, TX, according to its Texas Secretary of State corporate filing. However, the salespeople are traveling beyond Austin, as nearly 50 complaints have been filed against the company from consumers located all around Central Texas, as well as Kansas, Missouri and other Mid-western states. Twenty-two of the complaints have been filed in the last year alone.
According to consumers’ complaints, Ranch House Quality Meats repeatedly fails to honor refund policies, fails to deliver products and is unresponsive to consumers’ attempts to contact the company. Two consumers informed BBB that the meat salespeople also associated themselves with a company called “Your Local Butcher,” but this company name has no official registration in Texas.
The five most recent complaints have been filed by consumers* from the Waco area, leading BBB to believe this region has been heavily targeted by Ranch House Quality Meats in recent months.
