AUSTIN -- The Department of Public Safety is now doing more to catch their most wanted criminals.
One offender from the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives list and one from the Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list will be featured each month in hopes the higher reward money will generate additional tips.
The higher reward amount will only be paid if the tip comes in the same month the fugitives are featured.
Two new offenders will be featured each month. The Governor’s Criminal Justice Division will provide the additional reward money through the Texas Crime Stoppers program.
They will feature two fugitives each month, adding adding an extra $5,000 cash reward for information leading to their capture.
For June, they are looking for Rene Munoz and Antonio Garcia.
43-year-old Munoz is a Mexican Mafia member wanted for murder, kidnapping, sexual assault and several other crimes.
His reward is up to $15,000 for June.
35-year-old Garcia served time for the brutal kidnapping and rape of a 15-year old girl.
He never registered as a sex offender and disappeared in 2007.
His reward is up to $6,000.
