Extra stage precautions taken at Margarita and Salsa Festival
The 16th annual Margarita and Salsa Festival is tomorrow at the Extraco Event Center.
Along with margaritas and salsa, there will be best queso, guacamole and other competitions.
Stoney LaRue, Gary Allan and the Eli Young Band will be performing.
But on a more serious note. After the stage collapses seen around the world, Fox 44 has been told
that extra precautions have been taken to insure the safety and stability of the stage.
"We put in some extra anchors, as we do each year, that it would take a serious wind to, that again, is above standard, to make sure the crowd will be safe," President and CEO of the Extraco Event Center, Wes Allison said.
"Just come out and have a great time. Help support the Arthritis Foundation and the Heart O' Texas Fair Scholarship Program. Great time for a great cause," he said.
Allison also said that they have extra tents and fans set up this year to help battle the heat.
VIP tickets are sold out, but general admission tickets are still available tomorrow at the door.
The next main event at Extraco will be the Heart O' Texas Fair and Rodeo October 6th through 15th.
