UPDATE -- A fatal car crash in Bryan Thursday afternoon killed one and now DPS officials are saying distracted driving could be to blame.

The accident, involving a pick-up truck and dump truck, happened just after 2:45 on Old Reliance Road.

DPS officials say 88-year-old Willie Glover was driving westbound in his white pickup when he became distracted and looked away from the roadway for a minute causing him to hit a dump-truck nearly head on.

Senior Cpl. Jimmy Morgan said, "The road's narrow out here and he was trying to maintain his lane but it looks like the guy was going to be able to steer out of his path at one point but then he came right back into his path. He didn't really have an out or anywhere to go when it happened."

Glover died at the scene and officials say he wasn't wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the dump truck was not seriously injured.
