Fiery crash on Interstate kills one, injures two others
WACO -- One person is dead and two others injured after a fiery car accident on 1-35 that shut down the highway.
Police say a small car was driving slowly down the interstate this morning with it's hazard lights on when a semi-truck pulling a bobtail trailer, unable to stop in time, crashed into the small vehicle which then burst into flames.
"Killed the driver in that vehicle, the tractor trailer was then struck from behind by a third vehicle. The truck part hit the guardrail, rolled over the guardrail, down the embankment and the jeep also went down in the embankment," said Sgt. Patrick Swanton, Waco police spokesman.
The driver of the third vehicle a jeep and the driver of the truck were both transported to Hillcrest Hospital.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
All three of their identities have not yet been released.
