The former Rosebud Chief of Police was convicted last night for either tampering with evidence, or lying to police.

in August 2009, police say Jeremiah Shults removed beer cans, from a crash scene, where the girl he was in a relationship with, Ashley Royals, was driving.

Police tell us Shults even moved the car seat back, to make it look like one of the passengers was driving, so Royals would not be blamed.

Because Shults denied tampering with the evidence, he will now either face a misdemeanor charge of lying to police, or a felony charge for tampering with the evidence.
