Police are still investigating what started the fire that destroyed a section of a Goodwill warehouse.
The fire started in a dumpster at the 1000 block of East Waco Drive yesterday afternoon. There are piles of donated clothing ruined by fire, smoke and water. Though the damages will take a huge toll on winter donations, Goodwill President and CEO Daniel Nisley said he's happy it was just things, and not lives.
"My first reaction is that thankfully there were no people involved, and there's nobody hurt nobody injured. I know that there were 3 firemen taken as precautionary measures to the hospital, but they’re okay," Nisley said.
Nisley said they expect to start cleaning up in the next day or two. Goodwill asks that all donations be temporarily taken to any of the other 14 locations in Central Texas.
