WACO -- Waco ISD will start tearing down the old Bells Hill Elementary School this week.
The building process has already begun on the campus, and will kicked off with a ground-breaking ceremony Monday night.
Bells Hill will be demolished this summer and open again in 2012.
Waco ISD says the school was built in 1925, and is in desperate need of an upgrade.
"Waco knows that the future is in the education of their children, and we're putting money into infrastructure that will enable our district to educate kids for years and years to come," said Dale Caffey with Waco ISD.
It's the fourth and final new school funded by a $172 million bond.
The loan was approved by voters in 2008 for the rebuilding of J.H. Hines, University High, Dean Highland and Bells Hill.
