COLLEGE STATION -- Even though many say College Station is Rick Perry territory because of his ties to A&M, that didn't stop Republican presidential candidate, Herman Cain, from making a visit to Aggieland.
Cain came through town today as a part of his national book tour, where he signed copies of the newly released book "This is Herman Cain" to supporters.
All 550 copies that Hastings had on its shelves sold out.
A crowd of more than a thousand stopped by to catch a glimpse of the GOP candidate who is rising in the polls.
And even though Cain doesn't have any public office experience, he says this crowd of supporters is a sign that the American people are ready for someone different.
"They are responding to the fact that I have over 40 years of proven executive experience, not Wall Street executive experience like one of my other competitors, main street executive experience. I've actually made pizzas, cooked hamburgers and cleaned the floors in a business establishment of all sizes," said Cain.
Some of the supporters even chanted, "No Cain, no gain" and while Cain said he was shocked to gain popularity so quickly in the polls, he's not slowing down anytime soon.
Cain's next stop is Washington D.C.
