HEWITT -- At last nights Hewitt City Council meeting they decided it was time to put a $7.7 million improvement list to a vote.

For about three years now the City of Hewitt has been putting together a rolling capital improvement list. After a tough summer, they've put together a priority list with their top 10 needs, much of it dealing with water.

"We've outlined a 7.7 million dollar project list and what we're considering is going out and getting a certificate of obligation, which are bonds, and then bonding that amount of money and then paying that off over the next 20 years," Hewitt City Manager, Adam Miles said.

In April the city will have meetings for citizens to give their input and then a final vote.

Though there are many factors involved, if this bond passes, Hewitt residents could see about 20 dollars tacked onto their property taxes to help pay off the city improvements.
