COLLEGE STATION -- Police aren't releasing the name of the student who walked through Texas A&M's campus with a dummy rifle Thursday night. Texas A&M classes were back to normal Friday after the student, carrying a fake rifle, was seen walking on campus causing a lock down Thursday evening.
Texas A&M University Police Department received a report around 3:30 p.m. that an individual who appeared to be carrying a rifle was spotted in Rudder Tower. Police and other university personnel conducted an extensive search.
The university says they now believe this person was carrying a replica rifle through Rudder Tower on his way to his car on west campus. The student then drove home. The incident is under investigation. University officials and police weren't available for comment.
