KILLEEN -- It was one for the records Tuesday in an effort to promote water safety.
Killeen took part in the world's largest swimming lesson for the Guinness World Book of Records.
More than one hundred kids showed up for the lessons. It was part of a simultaneous swimming lesson that took place in cities all across the world.
With one drowning already taking the life of a teen in Central Texas this year, the city thought participating the Guinness record event would be a great way to prevent another drowning.
City and state-wide water safety organizations were there. Guinness is still counting the total number of participants.
