COLLEGE STATION -- A major car accident in College Station leaves two injured and a major roadway shut down down for several hours while crews worked to clear the scene.
It happened just after seven this morning during rush-hour.
Police say 21-year-old Kristin Willmott and 25-year-old Stephanie Guzman were both traveling eastbound on University Drive when Guzman failed to see Willmott stopping to make a left turn.
Guzman then swerved into oncoming traffic and collided with a Honda Accord.
"When the roads are wet and slick like they are this morning it's even more important that you pay attention to vehicles in front of you that may be stopping or turning and watch out for their turn signals and just be aware that there are many more drivers on the road now that the students are back in town so you just need to take extra caution," said Officer Phillip Dorsett with the College Station police department.
The driver of the Honda, 40-year-old Lisa Davis, and Stephanie Guzman were both taken to the hospital for their injuries.
