COLLEGE STATION -- After nearly a year-long investigation College Station police were finally able to arrest the man they say stole thousands of dollars from a local church.

According to police, Michael Browder, stole more than $2,000 from the Brazos Valley Pastors and Ministers Fellowship.

There were seventeen unauthorized transactions from Browder to pay his personal bills.

"I contacted the DA's office to present them what information I had and the DA that I spoke with said, 'You know, this sounds very familiar' and so he looks up Browder's name and realizes that Bryan PD had just gotten a warrant on Browder for the exact same thing on some churches in Bryan," said Detective Benton Keough.

Browder admitted to Bryan investigators that he took the money. He's in the Brazos County Jail on four theft charges.
