WACO -- A Waco man tried to stop two people after they reportedly stole a radio from his car.
Police say on Wednesday, two men pulled up to a home on 20th and Reuters where a car was for sale.
One of the men got out of the car and talked to the owner selling the car.
The two men left, but returned to steal the radio out of it.
The owner waited until he saw the suspects drive by again and chased them, blocking them at an intersection.
The burglars quickly turned around and wrecked. They ditched the car and ran.
However, police say chasing after a thief may not be the best idea.
"Once they get something stolen from them, it becomes very personal, and they want to get their property back or see justice done. Sometimes they'll put themselves in situations, not thinking, and before they know it, they can end up getting hurt," warned Sgt. Patrick Swanton with Waco Police.
Police did find some evidence that linked the suspects to the burglary, but they are still looking for the two men.
