A criminal is on the run, after assaulting an officer and breaking out of a Temple police car.

Gerald Holland escaped from police last night, when they attempted to arrest him for an outstanding warrant. When police caught Holland, he possessed several firearms and narcotics.

While being transported to Bell County Jail, he managed to move his handcuffs to the front of his body, and broke into the front of the car.

Holland assaulted the officer, and escaped again.

Police warn the community to be cautious, and say Holland is dangerous and possibly armed.

Police are searching for Holland, and ask anyone who sees the suspect to immediately call 911.
