BRYAN -- An 18 year-old is dead after an early morning shooting at his Bryan apartment. Tonight family and neighbors mourn his loss while police still search for the killer.
For neighbor, Aretha Wilson, it was just another typical night at her mother's house. She was sitting in the living room watching t-v when she heard gunshots outside.
"I was like, 'Did you hear that?' And it was like three gunshots that I heard and that was at about 12:05. It's sad."
Bryan police responded to the home on Sprucewood Street and found 18 year-old, Raymond Cavazos, already dead inside his living room from a gunshot wound.
Neighbors tell Fox 28 they are shocked by what happened. They say Cavazos was a quiet neighbor who helped take care of his girlfriend's three kids.
"He played with his puppy, he played with his little girls," said Wilson. "He don't bother nobody."
And next door neighbor, Victor Hernandez agrees, "I mean he's been a good kid. He always stayed to himself and everything so I just can't believe it happened and so close you know."
Police have determined two suspects forced their way into Cavazos' home and shot him.
Today investigators were back at the crime scene interviewing neighbors and potential witnesses as they try to piece together what happened.
