WEATHERFORD -- A Central Texas man accused of kidnapping his former neighbor and torturing her with a deer-skinning device appeared in court today.
The judge in a pre-trial hearing for Jeffrey Allen Maxwell will decide whether to suppress Maxwell's statements to authorities and other evidence.
He is scheduled to go on trial next month on aggravated sexual assault and aggravated kidnapping charges stemming from the abduction and torturing of his then 62-year-old neighbor last March in Parker County.
Maxwell faces up to life in prison.
