MILLICAN -- A trailer home is destroyed and nine dogs are dead after a fire in Millican in Brazos County.

The mobile home on Reservation Street went up in flames shortly after 3:30 Monday afternoon, destroying everything inside.

Officials tell us the fire began inside and quickly spread, causing combustion, and neighbor Tyler Burns says he saw the explosion.

"Whenever I pulled up, the house was pretty much smoking extensively. There was nothing but black smoke all over the place and somebody opened the door and it back-drafted and the whole thing just caught into a big ball of fire really."

The tenants were not home at the time but nine of their dogs inside were killed.

The Brazos County Sheriff's office is investigating the cause of this blaze.
