WACO -- If you've been on Interstate 35 lately, the billion dollar expansion project is no secret.
But while the finished product will be state of the art, the construction nightmare is only about to get worse.
After the almost $50 million Loop 340 interchange was completed a few weeks back, construction on the next project begins in about two weeks.
This 10 mile project will start slightly North of Bruceville- Eddy and end in Hewitt.
The construction should be completed in 2016.
"adding an addition main lane, widen our existing frontage roads. Existing frontage roads are currently two way, they will become one way. All of our entrance and exit ramps will have to be revamped, all of our bridges and overpasses within that section will also have to be rebuilt."
The whole I-35 expansion project should be complete in 2016.
TxDot said after areas North and South of the Central Texas corridor were renovated, Waco area became a choke hold for travelers.
TxDot is working hard to make sure all travelers through Waco are up-to-date on when there may be closures, detours or traffic.
