From sirens, to tweets, now what's going on behind the scenes of the Waco Police Department can be yours to "follow."
Waco PD has a new Twitter account that offers a lot of information and a little but of fun.
"That can provide them with safety tips, provide them with current criminal activity, we want to have a little bit of fun with it as well. you know there's a lot of humor that goes on in and around the department," Sgt. Patrick Swanton, Waco PD spokesperson said.
They started the account to let people around the area informed about crime and possibly help police, too.
"Live criminal activity updates and maybe elicit some help from our citizens as far as getting their eyes and ears out on the street for us too to maybe help us look for particular criminals," Sgt. Swanton said.
Waco Police tell us the site is not constantly monitored so it can't be used to report emergencies. =They also say not to use it as a tip line because your identity could easily be tracked.
The account has been live since Feb. 21, and their followers continue to rise.
To follow their tweets, first you must create a Twitter account. Then look for @WacoPolice for Sgt. Patrick Swanton's updates.
