Night speed limits change to 70, Sept. 1

There will be a lot of changes come September 1st, and this one may effect how quickly and safely you get to your destination.
At least by car that is.
The Texas sun down speed limits will be gone at the start of next month.
Instead of the night time speed of 65 mph, it'll be 70 all the time.
Fox 44 spoke with some locals and truck drivers to see how they feel about the speed change.
"Personally I think the speed limits are fine as they are. We need to conserve fuel. Plus people are too distracted anyway."
"It's okay, you know, at least I know I'm not over the speed limit. Usually I drive 70 or 75.
"Raising the speed limit, you know, is fine... I see very few people driving the speed limit now as it is anyway."
There is also discussion over raising the current highway speed limits.
Should there be any changes, we will be sure to keep you updated.
