MCLENNAN COUNTY -- A nine-hour chase involving Troy, Hewitt, Robinson and McLennan County authorities finally ended this afternoon.

It started around 1:45 this morning in Troy when a man drove up to a Shell gas station and needed money for gas, and instead, stole a car.

Police then attempted a traffic stop because the suspect was speeding on northbound I-35 for about 20 miles.

The suspect then got out of the car and took off running into a field near Sun Valley Drive.

Officers created a perimeter around the area, and finally at 11 am the suspect was captured just south of Waco.

"At approximately 11 o'clock this morning, he was found and place under arrest for charges [ McLennan County] had on him. We're in the process right now of securing a warrant for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle," Troy Chief of Police, David Lowry said.

Troy police identified the suspect as Brady Douglas Felio, 18.

He is now in McLennan County Jail for evading arrest.
