One injured in south Waco shooting

One person is taken to the hospital after being shot by an unknown assailant.
At around 8:45 p.m. Friday, officers were called to a local hopsital for a victim with a gunshot wound. They found a 26-year old man with a wound to his wrist.
The man told police that he was walking in the 1600 block of Ross Avenue in south Waco around 8:00 p.m. when he heard a gunshot and then felt pain in his wrist. He then noticed his wrist was injured and realized he had been shot.
The victim received a ride to the hospital from a friend and could not provide officers with any other information on the shooting.
Waco Police are working the case as an aggravated assault.
