COLLEGE STATION -- If you still have some presents left to get, you might want to think about avoiding the jam-packed mall and heading out to your local pawn shop instead.
That's because you very well could save some time and money.
If you're looking for some good last minute bargains or bang for you buck Donna Ruiz., manager at College Station Pawn, says you should avoid the mainstream stores tomorrow and head out to a local pawn shop.
"We sell a lot of things that you see at a retail store in great condition at a discounted price and I think people are realizing that they can come in and get that great deal on that X-Box, that gun or that piece of jewelry."
You can find anything from electronics to jewelry and even guns and that's one of the main reasons first-time customer, Seth Cole, decided to check it out.
"I was just doing some Christmas shopping and I know pawn stores in general have just a bunch of random stuff like a guitar with a country's flag on it, that's pretty cool."
Ruiz says business has been booming lately this holiday season. They've seen a 50 percent increase in foot traffic just since last year and she contributes a lot of that to reality TV.
"The three reality shows about pawn shops have really opened up the general public's eye to realize that it's not a bad place to come."
And after Seth Cole's first visit, he'd have to agree. "I'm a big fan of cheap stuff since I'm a college student so I'll definitely be back."
