COLLEGE STATION -- On a normal day in Aggieland you usually see maroon and white everywhere, especially on game-day weekends but today, that wasn't the case.
Aggieland Outfitters, Pink Alliance and both the cities of Bryan and College Station declared today as "Pink out Brazos Valley" in support of breast cancer.
Today's celebration were meant to honor and support cancer survivors and their families.
Katelyn Horner with Aggieland Outfitters tells us the response from the community was overwhelming.
"It was incredible. Everywhere you go we've seen various business that have pledged pink and they've encourage their employees to wear pink. It's just the spread of education and people being aware and spreading the word about breast cancer awareness."
A portion of the proceeds sold from the pink merchandise will be donated to Pink Alliance, who assists newly diagnosed breast cancer patients and educates the community about awareness, detection and treatment.
