Police Investigation leads to multiple arrests in copper thefts

From the Waco Police Department:

Waco Police arrested five individuals in relation to multiple copper thefts that occurred in Waco over the past several months. The arrested individuals are as follows:
 

1. Kristopher Harold B/M 8-30-1989 (five counts of theft)
 

2. Daryl Curl B/M 6-19-1990 (three counts of theft)
 

3. Byron Booker B/M 2-16-91 (one count of theft)
 

4. Julius Guillory B/M 6-19-1990 (one count of theft)
 

5. Francisco Flores III H/M 3-27-1978 (one count of theft)


The above individuals had been involved in the theft of air-conditioning units from various locations throughout the Waco area.

The total approximate cost of the A/C units at this point is over $178,000.00. Detectives also indicated that there were at least forty-nine A/C units stolen.
 

The thefts occurred starting in October of 2010. Suspects were cutting the units away from homes or businesses and transporting them to a local salvage yard to obtain money for the scrap metal.
