WACO -- Police are searching for a man who robbed a convenience store last night in Waco.

Around 8:20 p.m. a man carrying a pistol walked into the EZ Pak convenience store in the 2100 block of Bosque Blvd., displayed the gun then demanded cash and cigarettes before fleeing the store on foot.

Fortunately no one was injured.

"The clerk did exactly what we would have recommended him to do. Give him the cash give him the cigarettes get him out of the door as quick as you can. You don't want to get into a confrontation there because it's too close quarters and the potential for both parties being injured is, is very high," said Sgt. Patrick Swanton, Waco P.D.

The suspect is described as a black male standing 5'10 with an average build.

He was last seen wearing dark clothes, gloves and a mask over the lower portion of his face.
