WACO -- Police all over the state now searching for a truck that lost it's tire on a Central Texas highway sending it flying into another vehicle killing a woman inside.

On Friday a green dodge pickup was traveling southbound on I-35 just South of FM 308 when it's tire and wheel spindle broke off flying across the median and smashing into the windshield of a Pontiac van killing 39-year-old Yvette Maria Ruiz.

Police tell us witnesses say the driver of the pickup pulled over while a suburban behind it quickly attached the truck to the SUV and drove off.

"We're not concerned or at this time we don't believe or do not believe he was even aware of the fact that the tire struck another vehicle on the other side of the road," said Trooper D.L. Wilson, with the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Wilson said they have law enforcement from Waco all the way down to Mexico out looking for the truck.
