Pro-Life memorial vandalized
WACO -- Police in Waco are now investigating more criminal activity in the city. This time it's at a local Pro-Life memorial.
Rachel's Park was vandalized over the weekend when someone ran over some of the crosses.
Creator of the park, Rusty Thomas, says this isn't the first time.
The park lost more than 300 crosses to vandals in 2008, but this time it wasn't as destructive.
Police say it looks like an SUV drove over some of the crosses in the park.
Rev. Thomas says he suspects it might have something to do with their recent move next to Planned Parenthood.
"I don't know if it's connected or not, but the timing is certainly suspicious."
Along with the broken crosses, the word"CRIP" was found carved on one of the memorials and fight club was spray-painted on the side of the school building connected to the church.
"We're going to repair it. You know, and if it happens again we're going to repair it as along as I have life and breath," says Thomas.
Thomas doesn't plan on adding any security due to a lack of funding, but they hope to have it cleaned up by Saturday.
Police say whoever is responsible faces criminal mischief charges.
