KILLEEN -- Released inmates in Killeen won't be bothering people living near the jail anymore.
Killeen has decided to put in a bus line that would transport released prisoners to locations across the city.
City Council Member, JoAnn Purser says they had to do something after being swarmed with all the complaints.
"They had to walk to an area that they thought a phone would be available to them. So, they were surprising some residents who had never had that happen before and some businesses. It unnerves you because you're not quite sure why they were in jail to begin with or why they would be a-foot," explained Purser.
A bus will be going by the jail a couple times a day so these released inmates have a ride starting in March.
Purser says the bus will travel to Killeen Mall, the police department, Portion of Veteran's Memorial Blvd., a local hotel, Killen Convention center, Gilmore Center and along WS Young and Featherline.
