Shots fired during bingo hall robbery

On Tuesday at approximately 7:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to shots being fired in the El Rancho bingo building at Speight and Robinson Road. When officers arrived, dispatch was still receiving calls of a person in the building shooting. Officers entered the building under the belief that an active shooting was in progress. Once officers secured the scene they determined that a robbery had occurred and the suspects had fled.

Witnesses said that two black males approximately 6’00 to 6’2’’, wearing dark clothing and ski mask, entered the door on the south side of the building. They fired one to two shots into the ceiling and grabbed a bag and brief case containing an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects fled the scene possibly in a blue or dark color Nissan Quest. The witnesses stated that the weapon fired during this incident was a small pistol. When this robbery occurred there were approximately 130 patrons in the building. As of this time there has been no arrest and no known suspects.
