A 45 year old man, Gregg Needham, shot and killed himself outside of the McLennan County courthouse yesterday.

No incident like this has reportedly been an issue at the courthouse, regarding safety and security until now.

Even though there is high security inside the building, Mr. Needham was still able to bring a gun on the lawn, and kill himself, right outside the courthouse.

Mr. Needham had a court appearance scheduled for Wednesday, in regards to a drinking while intoxicated charge he recently received.

One woman from Waco who currently attends school at McLennan Community College says that this had made here feel less safe. She says, "I don't know, are we safe in Waco? I really don't know. We try to be, but you never know."

It is reported that a deputy, assigned to the Washing Avenue entrance of the courthouse, first reported the incident. Additional information regarding security has not been released.
