WACO -- Good news for college students.
Right now you can get your meningitis vaccine for free.
To help students meet registration requirements, which includes having the vaccination, the Texas Department of State Health Services has found new funding which allows public health districts to distribute the vaccine for free.
The vaccination is only offered until January 30 to all incoming freshman under the age of 30, regardless of insurance status.
"What would typically cost $130 here at the health district, now it's, basically we're providing the vaccination for free and the student only has to pay $14.85 and that's an administrative fee," said Jacque Walker of the Waco Public Health District.
Currently, the health district is running low on vaccinations but say they will get a new supply mid-December.
