WACO -- A growing population like ours here in Texas will bring a lot of challenges.
Local and state officials met last night in Waco to discuss the future of the state's water supply.
With the state population expected to hit 46.3 million by 2060, water shortages are a sure thing.
And after the record drought officials say they hope the state will be more aggressive with tackling these shortages.
While conservation is a key focus, the biggest challenge comes from paying for the water-related infrastructure necessary to provide for the increasing population.
