A U.S. Postal study is released recommending the closure of two facilities in Waco.
The study supports eliminating 82 positions locally, meaning job cuts and consolidating with Austin offices.
That would save $7.6 million every year however officials say the results aren't final and could be changed based on public feedback.
"You know this is still an ongoing study and it's far from complete and the next thing we have to do is have community input meeting so we can give the community an opportunity to, uh, comment," said Sam Bolen, U.S. Postal Service spokesman.
The public meeting will be held December 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Woodway.
There, postal service managers will give an overview of reasons for the proposal followed by community input and concerns.
