The city of Temple has been advised that several residents in the Windmill Farms neighborhood, have been contacted door-to-door, by an individual posing as a contract city water employee. The individual said he needed to take water samples inside their homes, due to a concern with the water system.

Police say these claims are false. There is no concern about the water, and the individual is not under contract with the city. The persona may be a solicitor, but his intentions are currently unknown.

Soliciting is against the law in the Temple, therefore, homeowners should exercise appropriate caution and care, when dealing with door-to-door solicitors.

Police encourage the community to not allow anyone to enter your home who claims to be a city official, unless they reveal proper identification.

Police say that homeowners should contact the city if they have any questions or concerns regarding the situation. They ask that any suspicious activity be reported to the Temple Police Department.
