COLLEGE STATION -- The animosity continues between Texas A&M and Baylor with the process of switching conferences.

But now, some Aggies are trying to bring the schools together when their football teams compete on October 15th to help those affected by the wildfires.

They're calling it "Towel out, white out," students dressed in white, waving around maroon towels.

And what started as a small idea, has now spread all over College Station.

"A&M is great about charity movements in the past like 'red, white and blue out' and stuff so we said what can we do? So we got a lot of ideas from people and the idea we finally came up with was maroon towels and white out," said Andrew Hartman, one of the organizers.

Pepsi has already donated 10,000 maroon Twelfth Man towels to support the cause and now more than 25 student organizations have signed on to help.

"Seeing all the organizations coming together like Greek life, the Corps of Cadets, everyone from all different aspects of campus coming together and joining in one cause is great," said Will Hatheway, another volunteer/organizer.

With more than 400 hundred towels sold within the first hour, students are hoping to be able to raise over $100,000 to donate to relief funds. 50 percent of the donations will be given to the Red Cross and the other 50 percent will be given to the Texas Wildfire Relief Fund.

"There was kind of a division between we should give it to victims, we should give it to firefighters. So we decided that both really need our money and really need our support right now," Hartman said.

And the Aggies are hoping it's not just A&M students who buy the towels.

"It doesn't matter who we're playing but everyone just needs to come together and support wildfire victims because we're all Texans and we're all affected by this," Hatheway said.

On October 15th Hartman and Hatheway hope to see both Aggies and Bears wearing white, to unite as one.
