WACO -- The second man charged in a string of bank robberies back in 2010 began trial this morning in Federal court in Waco.
Benjamin Alexander Potts, was part of a two-man team named the "Blue Jacket Bandits" who held up five banks along I-35 between Dallas and Temple in January and February of last year.
Federal district judge Walter Smith gave Potts permission to represent himself though it is ill-advised.
Earlier this year in a different federal judicial district, Potts was convicted of a robbery in Dallas where he was sentenced to more than 60 years in federal prison.
